Milan Welcomes Juventus As Inter Travel To Sampdoria Tonight On DStv and GOtv ~Omonaijablog

SuperSport viewers on DStv and GOtv can look forward to Round 16 action from the 2020-21 Serie A season, with 10 matches scheduled for 6 January 2021.

The pick of matches in this round of Serie A action is the meeting of Milan and Juventus at the San Siro for what could be considered an early title decider. While Milan have looked the strongest team through the first half of the season thus far, Juve remain the major challenge they will need to overcome to convince the doubters that a first title since 2011 is on the cards for the Rossoneri.

The teams’ most recent meeting was a brilliant match, with Milan coming from two goals down to trump the Bianconeri 4-2 back in July – a repeat result would really underline how far Stefano Pioli’s team have come, but the champions should not be underestimated.

“If that's true, our DNA must remain at the centre of the whole team. At times, games do get messy, we concede after a few minutes and our opponents defend well,” explained Juve manager Andrea Pirlo. "When you can't style your way through, you have to find other ways. We do have to move the ball more quickly, as otherwise we give the opposition more time to get back."

Pioli, meanwhile, notes that his charges continue to defy the odds: “The team has always taken the opportunity, even in negative situations, to show that they are strong, that this is a cohesive group. We have a very young group, but they continue to surprise me with their maturity. We didn't let our heads drop when things were going badly and we're not getting carried away now.”

Other key games in Serie A for this round include Internazionale’s visit to Sampdoria, Napoli hosting Spezia, Atalanta at home to Parma and Lazio welcoming Fiorentina to the Stadio Olimpico. Le Aquile coach Simone Inzaghi has explained that the tough schedule has taken its toll on his team.

“I believe we made the right signings this summer, but between injuries and Covid, we were short-staffed pretty much constantly and I haven’t been able to rotate the squad,” said Inzaghi. “In terms of pure numbers of players and options, this year the club has done a very good job. It is particularly tricky in Serie A when you then have to take on very organised and well-coached teams who have all week to prepare just for you.”
