Statistics Of Poor Nigerians Released By FG And Why Ogun State Was Excluded From The List ~ Omonaijablog



The federal government throught the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management under the honourable Minister Hajia Shadiat Umar Farook has released the National Social Register of Poor and Vulnerable Households in Nigeria.
The register was validated by NASSCO on the 31st March, 2020 to enable the ministry to disbursed relief funds to the vulnerable and poor Nigerians to Cushion the effects of the lockdown due to Covid 19 Pandemic outbreak.

According to the statistics above, there are 2,644,494 house holds enumerated and 11,045,537 individuals captured across the federation.

Among the 36 states of the federation, 35 states were captured in the list while Ogun state was omitted. The reason Ogun state was not captured was due to the fact that the state has not concluded the compilation of the list for the state.

The list was made public due to pressure from different critisisms from the public on the relief cash funds given to the people due to the Covid 19 lockdown.
