Lancelot Imasuen Leads Nollywood's Support For Actor Kenneth Okonkwo's Governorship Ambition


Multiple award winning filmmaker and producer of now showing movie, 'crushed', Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen has promised to throw his weight behind the Governorship ambition of Nollywood great and veteran actor Barrister Dr. Kenneth Arinze Okonkwo.

Lancelot made this promise during his courtesy visit to this eloquent actor in his Abuja mansion after his declaration to contest for Enugu State Governorship seat under All Progressive Party (APC).


Imasuen, who is still basking in the euphoria of the success of his latest movie (Crushed) in cinemas all across the country said, "i'm fully in support of your ambition and promised to rally support for you because you are a Nollywood pride".

"We need young, brilliant and courageous men like you at this point in Nigerian politics. I must confessed you have declared at the right time and you have my total and unalloyed support in your bid to savage Enugu's pride."

Kenneth Okonkwo is a famous Nollywood actor, director, producer, television personality, entrepreneur, investor, politician and a philanthropist.


He was born on 6th November, 1968 in Nsukka, Enugu State in the South Eastern part of Nigeria. He is currently 49 years old.


Kenneth Okonkwo completed his primary and secondary school education in Nsukka south easter part of Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate.


After completing his secondary school education, Kenneth Okonkwo proceeded to University of Nigeria, Nsukka in Enugu State, Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

He later went further to obtain a Masters Degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.


Kenneth Okonkwo rose to fame after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Living in Bondage” a movie that brought Nollywood to limelight.

He is one of the pioneers of the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) and contributed immensely to the growth of Nollywood in Nigeria and abroad.

He became very famous after playing the role of Andy in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Living in Bondage” a movie that gave birth to Nollywood. The movie won him Legend of Nollywood Award in Nigeria at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

He has acted in more than 250 Nollywood movies which include Living in Bondage, Ripple, Dumebi, Silent King, World Apart, Helplessly in Love with My Wife, Royal Secret, Billionaires Club, The Power of Money, Husband Material, etc.
