PZ Cussons Global CEO Visits Nigeria; Holds ‘Inner Hearts’ Mentoring Session

The global CEO of PZ Cussons, Dr Alex Kanellis was present to mentor over one hundred students of the Estate Senior Grammar School, Ilupeju, Lagos at the recently organized interactive counselling session held in Lagos.

Inner Hearts initiative, an innovative corporate social responsibility scheme created by employees of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc held the event which was tagged 30 minutes with Dr. Kanellis and had in attendance top officials of both PZ Cussons and the school in attendance. Key officials present at the mentoring session include, Managing Director- PZ Cussons Consumer, Mr. Alex Goma; Executive Director,  PZ Cussons Consumer Christos Giouras, Executive Director- Corporate Affairs, Mrs Yomi Ifaturoti and the Principal of the school Mrs. Jesugbamila Esther and others.

In her opening speech, Executive Director -Corporate Affairs, Mrs Yomi Ifaturoti explained that Inner Hearts was borne out of the concern of employees of PZ Cussons for Nigerians in need, believing in the mantra that ‘It is good to do good’. She added that resources for the projects are personal employee contributions, in cash and kind, to ensure a positive impact on beneficiaries.

Mrs. Ifaturoti further disclosed that plans have been firmed up to regularly bring in senior leadership staff of PZ Cussons to counsel, lecture and inspire students for the challenges ahead.
Dr. Alex Kanellis, while speaking, narrowed his thoughts towards the right attitude needed to succeed in life - hard work and developing the strong desire to consistently do what they love to do. He summarized passion and ambition as key ingredients required to fulfil their dreams.

Principal of the school, Mrs. Jesugbamila Esther in her comments, noted that PZ Cussons had been a great pillar behind the school’s success in the past three years; in terms of physical donations and moral development of the students. “We appreciate the kind gesture, most especially the opportunity availed the students to have direct interaction with Dr Kanellis. “We will as a community continue to live by some of the ideas shared today” she added.

Responding on behalf of the students, Israel Michael, appreciated the Inner Hearts team as well as the invaluable tips from Dr. Kanellis. He promised that the pupils will keep the tips shared close to their heart as guiding principles for life.
