"Mischief Makers At Work"- Insider Reveals Truth About Yaba Psychiatric Hospital CMD, Yemi Ogun's Trials

The Chief Medical Director of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, also known as Yaba Psychiatric Hospital, Mrs Cecilia Ogun, has said there is no iota of truth in her purported retirement scam.

The soft spoken and silent achiever said the news flying around that she schemed her way to become the CMD of the most popular neuro psychiatric hospital in Nigeria, is the work of mischief makers who want to oust her through the back door.

An insider who prefers to be anonymous, said that, "Contrary to stories flying around that she is being aided by the Federal Ministry of Health to occupy the position of the Chief Medical Director of Yaba Psychiatric Hospital and that she didn't retire when she clocked the age of 60, is false. Dr. Olayemi Ogun, duely resigned before picking the assignment and she is typically running a term based political appointment at the moment as she is no longer a civil servant."

Our source said, "After her resignation, she applied for the position and the Minister appoints after interviews and selection process. When one retires the next in line acts till the minister appoints. When she got the appointment, more than 4 or 5 qualified candidates applied for the position of CMD of the institution from within and many from outside the State but she was the most qualified and therefore appointed and later ratified by President Muhammad Buhari as the authentic CMD of Yaba Psychiatric Hospital."

Adding that, "those who are sponsoring negative stories about her were those who were expecting her to announce her resignation but, they have forgotten that she's the most senior in the institution and that she is not bound to report to anyone but only to the Federal Government. She has resigned and her appointment as the CMD of the institution is political." Our source said.

Dr. Yemi Ogun after her secondary level of education, attended the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos where she graduated as a Medical Doctor with MBBS in the year 1986. She later obtained a degree in Public Health (Epidemiology) from the same University.

Happily married with three children. Under her guide, the biggest Neuro-psychaitrist hospital in the country, has recorded numerous great feats which include the recent 50 percent increase in the number of patients treated for drug and substance abuse this year, recording a 22 percent increase in the number of new patients with various forms of mental disorders, rising from 3,591 in 2017 to 4, 376 in 2018.

It was also recorded that patients with drug and substance abuse related cases seen in the hospital rose from 157 in 2017 to 235 in the current year.

Dr. Mrs. Yemi Ogun, is undettered despite all the efforts of her destractors and has promised to do more to take the institution to a greater height.
