Yori Yori Crooners, Bracket Off The Radar After Cancer Scare!

‘Yori Yori’ was an anthem when release some years ago. The monster hit track brought much success to the works ofBracket, Nwachukwu Ozioko (Vast) and Obumneme Ali (Smash) but, with the cancer scare that nearly took the life of Nwachukwu Ozioko aka Vast, the duo are now off the radar of Nigerian artistes.

In 2013, just after attaining the peak of their musical success, Nwachukwu Ozioko popularly known as Vast, was diagnosed with Lymphoma, a type of cancer of the blood at the Wellington Hospital, United Kingdom. The dark-complexioned member of the popular signing group, Bracket, was diagnosed in February 2013 after suffering serious body pains, headaches, nonstop coughing, loss of weight and weakness while in Paris for a show.
He flew to London where a test revealed he had cancer. According to reports, he undergone about four cycles of chemotherapy with each costing about N1.4million as at the time, and he did like 7-8 before returning to Nigeria. Vast was also said to have visited a hospital in Lagos, Nigeria around 2012 when he started losing weight and feeling weak. They conducted a test, but it took them over three months to come back with the result and when it was finally released, the cancer has spread to his liver  which necessitated his seeking treatment abroad.
Although, Vast is now okay only going for his medical check-ups and even released an album, ‘Alive’ in 2015 which to many industry observers didn’t do well compared to their previous achievements, the most painful part of it is that they are now off the radar and could not cope with the ever competitive and highly demanding music entertainment market in Nigeria again.
